Two Minutes With: Hamilton Jr. Talks Hotels, Guns And Riding In The Fast Lane
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (April 9, 2008)  – Bobby Hamilton Jr., who will be among the NASCAR stars competing in the seventh annual Winn-Dixie 250 Powered By Coca-Cola Nationwide Series race on Friday night, July 4 at Daytona International Speedway, sat down with DIS for the latest edition of “Two Minutes With” and had a candid conversation about everything from his worst hotel experience and why he had to sleep with a gun, to his favorite racing idol, to what he spends his money on.
In a special "2 Minutes With …" a feature found at http://www.daytonainternationalspeedway.com/news/multimedia/, race fans can also find out Hamilton Jr.’s first job, his ideal vacation, dog or a cat and much, much more. As far as his pet peeve when driving on the road, Hamilton Jr. says, “Being in the fast lane and running five under or right at the speed limit. They’ll give you 10 mph, take it.”
Hamilton Jr. couldn’t answer one question and that was his favorite sports team. Said Hamilton Jr.: “Boxing is my thing. If it doesn’t have four wheels or boxing gloves on it, I don’t have any interest it.”
The 30-year-old Hamilton Jr., who is the son of the late NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series champion Bobby Hamilton, is a top contender in the NASCAR Nationwide Series driving the No. 25 Team Rensi Motorsports Ford. He has five career NASCAR Nationwide Series victories and finished sixth in last year’s championship standings.
"2 Minutes With …" goes behind the scenes each month to reveal information even the most rabid race fanatics might not know. Fans can watch video clips of motorsports stars that visit the "World Center of Racing" who sit down with the DIS communications staff in the special segment.
Among the motorsports personalities that have sat down for “Two Minutes With” segments include NASCAR President Mike Helton, NASCAR stars Kevin Harvick and Carl Edwards, IndyCar Series stars Helio Castroneves and Tony Kanaan, five-time Rolex 24 champion Hurley Haywood and Daytona 200 By Honda motorcycle champions Miguel Duhamel and Jake Zemke.
