Golf Channel Visits "World Center of Racing" to tape new show
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Ten skilled golfers brought their best game to motorsports’ best facility as the Golf Channel’s new original series Highway 18 – made an appearance at Daytona International Speedway last week.

The program, scheduled to premiere July 22 follows two-person teams competing in a golf “road rally,” at a variety of landmarks and little-known places, navigating their way through golf challenges both on and off the golf course that will demand cooperation and ingenuity in order to survive elimination.

At Daytona, the group which included teams of Andy Crain and Parker King, brother and sister Rob and Charlotte Campbell, Jameica Duncombe and Raul Cendoya, father and son Peach and Jay Reynolds and Ashleigh Korzack and Ashley Davis chipped balls at a stationary Richard Petty Driving Experience car in the historic infield as well as hopping in the passenger seat of a RPDE car going 185 MPH.

Each episode of Highway 18 will feature two sets of golf challenges: a Road Challenge and a Clubhouse Challenge.  The Road Challenges can comprise either quick stops – such as target practice at a highway driving range – or involved skills challenges in well-known, but non-traditional settings, including tourist attractions and sports venues.  The Clubhouse Challenges will take place at various golf courses, ranging from famous championship venues to municipal facilities.
